Clean Power Estimator provides residential and commercial customers with a personalized estimate of the benefits of a renewable energy system, including energy impact, economics and environmental characteristics.

Exclusively a web-based service, Clean Power Estimator can be embedded into an existing web page in an iframe or simply linked to from any web page. Optionally, Clean Power Estimator exposes a “Web service” programming interface that allows external application developers to call into the Clean Power Estimator calculation engine. Clean Power Estimator performs its calculations using a nationwide database of electric rates (PowerTariffs™), a nationwide database of incentives, nationwide irradiance data from NREL’s TMY dataset and a power model derived from Sandia National Laboratories PVFORM model. The act of entering a ZIP code and bill amount (or energy usage) allows Clean Power Estimator to: determine location, lookup a load profile, determine the utility and likely electric rate (and give the user the opportunity to override that rate if necessary), pull irradiance information, locate incentive information and, finally, to calculate the economic, energy and environmental impacts.
